About
A family place, made deliberately quiet.
Springkell is two cabins in the woodland on our family estate at Eaglesfield, in Dumfries and Galloway. It is not a hotel or a spa. It is a small, family run place to stay for a few days, with a hot tub, a sauna and a great deal of quiet.

The name
The peacock in our emblem and the names of the two cabins, The Peacock and The Black Swan, come from the birds that gave the family's ground its character. The lettering and the gold are the same as on the sign at the end of the track.
Springkell is family run, on the family estate, and that is the whole of it.
There is no management company, no call centre and no booking desk in another country. The cabins are on our family's ground at Eaglesfield, we built and finished them ourselves, and we are the ones who clean them, restock them and answer the phone. When you write to us, you are writing to us.
There are two cabins. Both are finished in the same calm palette of pale timber, soft linen and warm light, and both have a private hot tub on the deck. Neither is the "deluxe" one; they are the same idea, twice.
The sauna, the padel court and the woodland are part of the estate too, shared with the family rather than run as a facility. Paths through the trees, birdsong, and enough darkness at night to see the stars.
Our first stays begin on Friday 18 December 2026, and bookings are open from that date. We have waited until the cabins, the capacity and the rates were certain before taking a single request, and we still answer every one of them ourselves.
What we are not claiming
- The sleeping arrangements in each cabin, beyond the confirmed four to six guests.
- Whether sauna sessions and court time are included, charged for, or bookable separately.
- Extras: pricing, delivery and Champagne age verification.
- Check-in and checkout times, deposits and cancellation terms.

If something matters to your stay and it is not answered here, ask. We would rather tell you the truth about what is ready than let you arrive expecting something else.
